
The Citadelles du Vin is an international wine competition held annually in Bourg, in the Gironde department near Bordeaux. In 2026, the competition returns on 13 June, bringing together producers and expert jurors from across the globe.
Producers from wine regions worldwide submit their wines for evaluation under blind tasting conditions. Open to wines and spirits from all countries, the Citadelles du Vin is a genuinely international benchmark. Medals awarded at this competition are recognised by producers as a valuable tool for export and market development.
The competition is organised by the association Citadelles du Vin, based in Bourg, in the heart of Bordeaux wine country, where the Gironde estuary meets the limestone plateaux of Blaye and Bourg.
Blind tasting: All wines are tasted blind by a panel of expert jurors including sommeliers, wine merchants, journalists and winemakers.
International scope: Entries are accepted from producers worldwide. The competition is open to still wines, sparkling wines and spirits.
Medals: Gold, Silver and Bronze medals are awarded based on jury scores. Results are published after the competition and used by producers to promote their wines internationally.
Entry period for 2026: Producers could register their wines between 09/01/2026 and 30/04/2026.
